This study involved 30 students, 6th semester English Education major, at Indraprasta PGRI University, with 15 selected responses analyzed in depth based on completeness and relevance. The study was conducted for one month using questionnaires and interviews, and triangulation was used to identify the data. With an emphasis on the case study of PuriViera, an Indonesian YouTuber living in the US, this study applied a qualitative descriptive method to analyze students' reactions to her YouTube Shorts and the perceptions that emerged. The findings of the study showed that most students expressed positive perceptions, recognizing the use of regional accents not as a deficiency but as an expression of identity that should be proud of, even introducing regional identities to a global audience. This study highlights the importance of inclusive pedagogical practices that support authentic communication and promote linguistic diversity.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://ojs.stkippgri-lubuklinggau.ac.id/index.php/JEELL/article/view/3579Boosting Language Learners’ Motivation Through Teacher Praise and Feedback2025-07-24T18:17:05+00:00Dewi Syafitridewisyafitristkipllg@gmail.comNabilah Khairunnisanabilahk908@gmail.com
Motivation is an important part of language learning because it affects how much effort students give, how they feel about learning, and how long they stay committed. When students are motivated, they are more likely to enjoy learning and try harder to improve their skills. This paper explores the role of teacher praise and feedback in helping students stay motivated in English as a foreign language (EFL) classrooms. Praise helps students feel appreciated and more confident, while feedback gives them direction and helps them improve. Many studies show that praise and feedback together give better results than when used separately. They support both academic improvement and emotional well-being. This review suggests that using both strategies is a helpful way to create a positive classroom and support students in becoming more independent and motivated learners.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://ojs.stkippgri-lubuklinggau.ac.id/index.php/JEELL/article/view/3574THE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ROLE PLAY TECHNIQUE TO ENHANCE EFL STUDENTS’ SPEAKING SKILL2025-07-28T11:43:11+00:00Ani Fianianifiani051187@gmail.comM Maria Ignasia Nahakmarlanahak9b@gmail.com
Speaking remains an important but difficult skill for EFL learners due to the fear of being assessed and not having the opportunity for hands-on practice. In this study, 24 peer-reviewed articles from 2022–2025 were examined. The study employed a qualitative descriptive library research approach. Based on the findings, role-playing significantly enhanced students' confidence, vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency by offering a secure and engaging setting. Furthermore, it reduces language anxiety and promotes imaginative and cooperative activities. It is primarily implemented through the use of structured group activities, reflective follow-up, and realistic scenarios. According to this study, role-playing enhances students' social and psychological growth as well as their language proficiency. Consequently, it is strongly advised that role play be used frequently in EFL classes.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##
