The objectives of this research were to describe (1) the use of Aegisub application in creating subtitles of short descriptive video (2) the strengths and weaknesses of the use of Aegisub application. This research belongs to Classroom Action Research (CAR) that applied in two cycles. The research was conducted at grade 10th TAV EB of SMK Ma’arif 6 Ayah. The data analysis of this research used descriptive qualitative. The researcher used five procedures of teaching and learning activity referred to Indonesian’s Education Minister Decree in Suharyadi(2013) namely observing, questioning, experimenting, associating, and communicating. The first step that students do was installing the software. The second one was selecting and loading the video using Aegisub. Then, trying to type and modify the text using features provided by Aegisub, in this case, students create descriptive text about the topic. The last one was saving the work into the current folder. The strengths of the use of Aegisub application was to engage the students in a writing activity and gain the topic easily seen in the student learning process. Meanwhile, the error system and automatic grammar correction become the weaknesses of the application. In this research, the significance of technology was needed to increase student’s motivation and creativity in the teaching-learning process, especially in writing skills.
