Authorship Criteria

Authorship Criteria
SINDANG: The Journal of History Education and Historical Studies

SINDANG upholds integrity, transparency, and accountability in scholarly publishing. Authorship must be based on substantive contributions to the research and the manuscript, rather than on position, seniority, or the provision of administrative or financial support.

1. Authorship Criteria

An individual may be listed as an author only if they meet all of the following criteria:

a. Made a substantive contribution to the research concept or ideas, research design, or the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data.
b. Participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising its intellectual content.
c. Approved the final version of the manuscript to be published.
d. Agreed to take responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the specific portion of the research to which they contributed.

2. Corresponding Author

The corresponding author serves as the primary point of contact between the journal and all authors throughout the submission, review, and post-publication processes. The corresponding author must ensure that:

all listed authors meet the criteria stated above;
no qualified author has been omitted (ghost authorship);
no individual has been included without having made a substantive contribution (gift or guest authorship);
all authors have read and approved the final version of the manuscript.
3. Contributions Not Meeting Authorship Criteria

Individuals or institutions that provide technical or administrative assistance, funding, facilities or workspace, basic data collection (without analysis), or language editing do not meet the criteria for authorship. Such parties may be acknowledged in the "Acknowledgements" section, subject to their consent.

4. Author Order

The order of authors must be mutually agreed upon by all authors before the manuscript is submitted. This order must be specified in the contribution statement form. 5. Contribution Statement

By submitting a manuscript, the corresponding author declares that all authors have met the authorship criteria, approved the final version, and agreed upon the order of authorship. If necessary, the Editorial Board may request a written contribution statement or supporting evidence for the research.

6. Authorship Misconduct

The SiNDANG Editorial Board reserves the right to request clarification if there are indications of a violation of authorship criteria. If such a violation is confirmed, the Editorial Board may reject or retract the manuscript in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policy.
